Should you repost your blog articles?

So you’ve spent hours upon hours researching and writing the perfect article for your website blog. Now that you’ve spent all that time, you’d like to repost that content to another website or to social media. With little additional effort, you can reach new audiences but if you’re not careful, you could actually lose traffic to your website!  So let’s go over the benefits and then how to repost...

9 Best CRM solutions for 2020

Man drawing out CRM with illustrations.

This is a repost of the article I wrote on our Thrive Web Designs blog earlier this week. What is CRM software? CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management and it’s software, usually an online service, that allows you to manage your customer contacts so you can easily categorize them, email them, and market to them. It’s a great way to mass-communicate with your customers, promote your...

Redesign: A Whole New Look…

And refocus on where I am now! The old website was centered on my client work and the business. Since I joined with Josh at Thrive Web Designs (joint owners), it’s time to reclaim aaronbday.com into one of my personal passions: sharing my knowledge and promoting the web design space. You can read more about me on my About page but you’ll notice that I don’t even include this...

If only this daydream was true! The WordPress automatic updates do promote better security, but they’re only incremental...

Google recently updated their Material Design specification with the added bonus of the new Material Design Iconic Font. These are free to use under the Creative Common Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0). This means you can do just about anything you’d like with these icons (Google would enjoy having attribution it isn’t necessary). The icons are available to you in a number of...

WP Update Causes 403 Error!

We just had a situation where the latest WordPress update actually caused a 403 Site Error for the whole website! So sharing the solution. After looking into it and working with the hosting company too, we found that an update to the .htaccess file had changed the permissions for the web server. To fix this, we just added “Options +FollowSymLinks” to the top of the default WordPress ...

That little fox you see above…just think of him as the sneaky, malicious hackers that are trying to get into your website to wreak havoc. You’ve heard us say it here, and you will probably hear us say it again at some future date beyond today: keeping your WordPress installation and plugins up to date is a critical part of owning and maintaining your website. WordPress accounts for 23...
